Owens Volleyball Signs Two More

Toledo, OH -- After signing six players for the 2019 season, the Owens Volleyball program welcomed two more players aboard, Tyriana Settles and Megan Dunne, over the last few weeks. The Express will now welcome in a total of eight freshman to pair with its remaining players to make a run at a second consecutive national championship. Both players that were signed played are local products as well. 

 Tyriana Settles, Fostoria: Tyriana Settles will join the Express after an outstanding career at Fostoria High School. Settles finished her senior campaign with the Redmen as a First Team All-Ohio Selection, the Division III District 6 Player of the Year, and the Player of the Year in the Northern Buckeye Conference (NBC). She was the District 6 Player of the Year as a junior along with being an All-NBC First Team and All-District First Team member her first three seasons at Fostoria. Settles is a three sport athlete, participating in basketball and softball. She was an All-NBC selection this past season for basketball and she was a member of the All Northwest District Second Team last season for softball. 

 Megan Dunne, Rossford: Megan Dunne will join Owens next season after playing at Rossford High School. Dunne was an All-NBC First Team member as well as a All-District First Team member for District 7 while with the Bulldogs. She was a second team member for the NBC and District 7 during the 2016 and 2017 season respectively. Dunne also had a successful basketball career. This past season she was an All-NBC Second Team member and an All-District Second Team selection as well.She was an Honorable Mention selection for both teams during the 2017-18 basketball season. Dunne has been a superstar in the classroom as well. She is an Honor Roll student and received the Promethean Award during her junior year. She is in the top ten percent academically for her senior class academically and she is a National Honor Society member too. 

Notes: 

- Owens is coming off of the school's first National Championship in program history. The team finished the season 40-6 overall and won their fourth straight OCCAC title, finishing 16-0 in the league. Coach Sonny Lewis was named Division III Coach of the Year, while Michaela Eisenhauer was named Player of the Year. Sophomores Kennedy Ames and Summer Sweeting were named to the NJCAA Division III All-Tournament Team this past season.
