Toledo, OH --  After just one match a week ago, the No. 2 ranked Owens Express volleyball team are gearing up for another busy week on the court.

Owens played their first road match of the season last Wednesday when they defeated Lakeland in straight sets. The Express dominated the match winning 25-9, 25-11, and 25-11 to win their 12th match of the year.

Tyriana Settles and Semira Neely both finished in double digits in kills for the match. Settles had 14 total while Neely had 12 against the Lakers. Settles also led the Express in dig with 21 total for the match. Neely had two block assists as well.

Rebecca Brown added 37 assists to her total for the season, placing her at 405 for the year. Shyah Wheeler finished with eight kills and a solo block.

Owens would have some downtime the rest of the week. The team had the weekend off before resuming practice at the start of the week.

The break was  short lived though, as Owens gets set to six matches this week, including a double header on Friday and a triple header on Saturday.

The Express will take on Cuyahoga on Wednesday night at the SHAC starting at 6 PM.

Owens will then welcome Hocking College and Terra in for a double header to start at 6 PM Friday evening. The Express will hit the gym again Saturday morning, starting at 10 AM, where they will host a quad meet. Owens will take on Columbus State followed by St. Clair and Terra to round out the day. Those games are scheduled to start at noon and 2 PM.
