Alison Mugler spent three seasons as an assistant coach with the Owens women's volleyball program.

In 2009, she earned a bachelor's degree in organizational communication from Murray State University. While at Murray State, Mugler was a member of the volleyball team and earned Ohio Valley Conference All-Newcomer Team and All-OVC tournament team honors.

The St. Ursula Academy graduate was a First Team All-City League, All-District and All-Ohio selection in volleyball and helped her team to a high school state championship in 2004. The Maumee resident is a member of the Toledo Volleyball Club.
