Title: Assistant Women's Volleyball Coach

Ellie Comes completed her first and only year as an assistant women's volleyball coach at Owens Community College in 2014.

She helped coach the team to a 34-11 overall record, including a 12-2 record in OCCAC play which was good for second place. The team's season ended in the Region XII District E loser's bracket finals. Following the season, the team produced four All-OCCAC players, two All-Region XII players and one NJCAA All-American.

Comes was a libero with the volleyball program at Owens from 2010-11. She broke the program's career digs record with 1,882 on her way to becoming an NJCAA Division II Honorable Mention All-American. She was a two-time First Team All-OCCAC, All-Region XII and Region XII All-Tournament selection. At her time of departure, she held the second and third highest single season dig totals in program history. 

In her two-year career, Comes helped lead the Express to an 87-14 overall record - including a 23-1 OCCAC record. The team won two OCCAC titles and captured one Region XII title and one Region XII runner-up finish during her career. In 2011, the Express had the highest winning percentage in program history (45-5, .900), which included tying the mark for most wins and setting a record for fewest losses in a season.

Following her career at Owens, Comes transferred to the University of Northwestern Ohio (UNOH) for her final two years. As a junior, she finished the season tied for third in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) with 4.4 digs per set (593 total). She added 44 aces, as well, which was good for second on the team. As a senior, she led the team with 452 digs, while adding 19 aces. She finished her career at UNOH with 1,045 digs.

Overall, Comes produced 2,927 digs in her collegiate career.

Prior to her time at Owens and UNOH, Comes was a three-time All-Northern Lakes League selection at Southview High School in Sylvania, Ohio. She is the daughter of Robert and Lynn Comes.
