2015: Hartings closed a spectacular career with a sophomore year where she competed in 47 matches. In 161 sets, she had 465 kills with a .223 hitting percentage, six assists, 23 service aces, 136 digs, 42 solo blocks, 47 assisted blocks and 89 total blocks. She finished second on the team in kills, third in total blocks, second in assisted blocks and seventh in digs.
Following the season, she was named First Team All-OCCAC. During the season, she captured OCCAC player of the week honors on Sept. 13.
Hartings, who signed with NCAA Division II Francis Marion University, finished her career with 1,005 kills and a .263 hitting percentage, 14 assists, 34 service aces, 260 digs, 68 solo blocks, 110 assisted blocks and 178 total blocks.
Following the year, Hartings received the NJCAA's Exemplary Academic Achievement Award.
2014: As a freshman, Hartings recorded a team-high 540 kills (.309 hitting percentage), along with eight assists, 11 aces, 124 digs and 89 blocks (26 solo). Her block total was third on the team, while her solo block total tied for the team-high and her hitting percentage was a team-high. Following the season, she earned First Team All-OCCAC honors and made the Region XII District E All-Tournament team. On Sept. 19, she recorded a season-high 22 kills.
Regionally, Hartings finished second in total kills. Nationally, she finished fourth in total kills.
Prior to Owens: Hartings was a four-year varsity starter for the Coldwater volleyball program, which won a district championship this past season. Individually, Hartings was named First Team All-Midwest Athletic Conference (MAC) and Second Team All-District 8 as a senior. She participated in the District 8 All-Star Game, as well.
She was coached by Mike Etzler at Coldwater, while achieving honor roll status academically during her junior and senior years.
Aside from volleyball, Hartings is also a standout bowler, as she won an individual state championship in 2013, while also helping to lead Coldwater to Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) team state championships in 2012 and 2013.
Personal: Erika is the daughter of Rick and Patty Hartings. She has one sister, Paige.
