Myrtle Beach, SC---Jordan Hill threw a great game, but the Express baseball team lost to Olney Central College 5-1 on Tuesday.

Hill helped the Express keep the game close through six innings. He went 5.2 innings while allowing five hits, zero walks and two runs while striking out three.

Sam Hackney relieved him in the sixth and picked up the final out of the inning. At that point, the Express only trailed 2-1. Olney then scored three in the seventh for the final margin.

The Express had runners on second and third with one out or less twice in the game, and they failed to score either time.

"We hit the ball, but just right at people," said assistant coach John Parisho. "We had a lot of line drives."

Benjamin Breymier continued his fine offensive streak with a 2-for-3 game, while Alex Samson, Nick Collins, Nate Manis and Logan Shullick each picked up one hit apiece.

Dru Sebastian relieved Hackney and got the final two outs of the game.

The lone Express run came on an RBI groundout from Collins. Samson, who had singled earlier in that inning, scored on the play.

Notes

The game was played at Myrtle Beach High School. The Express were originally scheduled to take on Manchester College JV, but the Express took on Olney when Manchester was unable to play.

The Express (0-4) will play a pair of games on Wednesday. They will take on Lansing Community College at 3:30 p.m. before facing St. Clair County Community College at 6 p.m.
