Miller Named Player of the Year As Express Men Dominate OCCAC Postseason Honors

Toledo, OH---Glenroy Miller was named the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) Player of the Year in men's soccer today.

Miller also was named First Team All-OCCAC, OCCAC Offensive Player of the Year and First Team All-Region XII. The sophomore scored nine goals and had two assists in six games of conference play. Overall, he had the second most goals in the nation (26), as well as four assists.

Four others were also named First Team All-OCCAC. They include Nickyle Webber, Juavanie Cole, David Ortega-Gonzalez and Joshua Kleinow.

Webber, Cole and Kleinow were named First Team All-Region XII, while Webber was also named the OCCAC Midfielder of the Year, while Cole was named the OCCAC Defensive Player of the Year.

Webber, who had six goals and five assists in OCCAC play, led the nation in assists with 16, while also tallying 11 goals overall. He was the team's second leading scorer, as well as the region's second leading scorer behind Miller.

Meanwhile, Cole was the team's third leading scorer as he finished with eight goals and nine assists, including one goal and six assists in OCCAC play.

Ortega-Gonzalez had two goals and three assists this year, while Kleinow started all but one game in goal for the Express. In 19 games, he allowed 22 goals and made 79 saves.

Kleinow was the lone freshman among the First Team All-OCCAC selections.

Second Team All-OCCAC selections for the Express included two freshmen, Vijay Gentles and Jacob Martin.

Gentles had four goals and four assists this year, while Martin, despite not producing any points, joined the starting lineup after a couple games and provided stellar play for the Express in the midfield.

Express head coach Art Johnson was named OCCAC Coach of the Year after earning Co-Coach of the Year honors last season. Johnson led the Express to their first OCCAC championship in program history this year.

The Express finished 14-6-1 overall this season after claiming the #2 seed in the Region XII tourney. Their season ended with a 2-0 loss to Cincinnati State in the Region XII semifinals.
