Toledo, Ohio---Ashley Tunstall (Huber Heights Wayne/Dayton, Ohio), a sophomore forward for the Owens Community College women's basketball team, has signed with NCAA Division I Bowling Green State University.

Tunstall just completed an historic two-year career in which she was the sophomore leader on a team that went 34-2 overall, 14-0 in OCCAC play (1st Place), won a Region XII District I tournament championship and finished third in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II National Tournament. She also led the team to a program record 33 game winning streak and was named the Owens Female Athlete of the Year.

"Bowling Green is very lucky to get a player of Ashley's caliber," said Owens Community College head women's basketball coach Mike Llanas. "She blends work ethic, heart and persistence in developing her talent. Our program is much better after having Ashley been a part of it."

Following the regular season, Tunstall earned First Team All-Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) and First Team All-Region XII honors for the second consecutive season. In the postseason, she earned Region XII District I Tournament MVP and NJCAA Division II All-National Tournament team honors while averaging 23.8 points, 10.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.5 steals per game over six games.

She became only the fourth player in program history to earn First Team All-OCCAC honors twice, and she pulled down a career-high 18 rebounds in a conference win over Lorain County on Feb. 18. She earned OCCAC player of the week honors on Dec. 7 and Dec. 21.
