Toledo, OH---The Express women's soccer team didn't play a game today, but they had a big day off the field.

Freshman Erika Brinkman was named National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) D-I Goalkeeper of the Week for her stellar play in three matches last week, while the Express entered the NJCAA D-I poll at No. 16 today. It is the first time the program has been nationally ranked since the program started last year.

Brinkman helped lead the Express to wins over Indiana Tech JV, Kellogg Community College and Jackson Community College. She saved 12 of 13 shots on goal while helping her team outscore the opposition 11-1.

The win against Jackson marked the 10th shutout that Brinkman and the Express have achieved this year, as well.

The No. 16 Express women will look to bring home a Region XII regular season championship this Saturday against Cincinnati State Technical and Community College. The match will begin at 3 p.m., and it will be played at Xavier University.

With a win, the Express (11-2-3 overall) would guarantee at least a share of the Region XII title with Schoolcraft College, and they hold the tiebreaker over the Ocelots for the No. 1 seed in the Region XII postseason tournament.
