Kreger's Game Winning Header in Double Overtime Stuns No. 11 Schoolcraft in 2-1 Express Upset

Livonia, MI---Haley Kreger's game-winning header off a corner kick in double overtime gave the Express women's soccer team a 2-1 victory over previously unbeaten and untied No. 11 Schoolcraft College.

Jill Burkholder assisted on the game winner, which came at the 101:47 mark. It was her fourth assist of the season.

Earlier in the game, Kendyl Christian put the Express up early with a goal just 6:01 into the match. Schoolcraft answered to tie it up just over three minutes later at the 9:12 mark.

Christian's goal was her fifth of the season, while Kreger's goal was her fourth. Grindle, who assisted on Christian's goal, picked up her fourth assist.

The win improves the Express winning streak to seven games. Their last loss was at home on Sept. 4 to Schoolcraft. It marks the longest winning streak in program history.

Erika Brinkman played the first half in goal for the Express before Megan Soncrant replaced her for the second half and overtime. It was Soncrant's third game of action and the first decision of her college career.

Notes

The Express are now 9-2 overall and 6-2 in Region XII, while Schoolcraft falls to 9-1 overall and 9-1 in Region XII.

Today's win tied the record for the highest ranked team the Express has knocked off in program history. It is also the first time the Express has defeated Schoolcraft on the road.

The next action for the Express will be Sunday at home against Indiana Tech JV beginning at 2 p.m.
