Burkholder Reaches 20 Career Goals, Ramirez Nets First Career Goal as Express Women Defeat Delta 4-1

University Center, MI---Marissa Ramirez (Northwood/Northwood, OH) scored her first collegiate goal, while Jill Burkholder (Bryan/Bryan, OH) netted two goals, as the Express women's soccer team defeated Delta College 4-1 today.

The victory is the 12th straight for the Express, which extends a program record. With their 14th win today, they also broke the previous program record for wins in a season.

Amber Burnette (Oak Harbor/Graytown, OH) put the Express up 1-0 in the 31st minute with her fifth goal of the season. It came on Kendyl Christian's (Clay/Oregon, OH) third assist of the season.

After trailing 1-0 at halftime, Delta College scored 15 minutes into the second half to tie the match up.

Burkholder scored on back-to-back goals off corner kicks shortly after to regain control of the match for the Express. The goals were the 11th and 12th of the season for the sophomore midfielder, who now has 20 goals and 15 assists in her career.

With her team up 3-1, Ramirez scored an unassisted goal. It was the sophomore's first career goal. She had three career assists coming into the match.

The Express (14-2) will close out their regular season on Saturday with a road matchup against Cincinnati State Technical and Community College at 3 p.m.
