Cincinnati, OH---Elizabeth Theaker (Maumee/Maumee, OH) scored the game-winning goal as the Express earned a come-from-behind 2-1 win over Cincinnati State Technical and Community College today.

The Surge took an early lead in the first half on a goal at the nine minute mark from Brittani Abner, but Kendyl Christian (Clay/Oregon, OH) scored in the 28th minute off a cross from Jill Burkholder (Bryan/Bryan, OH) to tie it up.

Towards the end of the first half, with 10 minutes left, Theaker scored on a free kick from 30 yards out to give the Express the winning margin. The shot bounced past the goalkeeper untouched.

Erika Brinkman (Kalida/Cloverdale, OH) started in goal for the Express and made four saves.

With the win, the Express (15-2) pushed their program record winning streak to 13 heading into next weekend's Region XII tournament, which will be played at Owens. They earned a No. 2 seed and will host either Delta College or Cincinnati State in the semifinal round of the four-team tournament.

Christian's goal was the 10th of the season for her, while Theaker's goal was her second. Burkholder's assist was her seventh of the season.

Today's game was played at Withrow International High School in Cincinnati.
