Fort Loramie's Pleiman Joins Talented Owens Volleyball Recruiting Class

Toledo, Ohio---Ashley Pleiman, a 6'1" middle blocker from Fort Loramie High School, has signed a letter of intent to play volleyball at Owens Community College next year.

"Ashley is a very aggressive, hard hitting middle blocker," said Owens Community College women's volleyball head coach Sonny Lewis. "We are expecting her to be a very good player for us next year."

Pleiman had 16 kills and nine digs in the state championship game against No. 1 ranked and undefeated McComb as her team won the state title. Prior to that, she had 10 kills in the state semifinals. Following the season, she was named First Team All-Shelby County Athletic League, First Team All-District IX and Second Team All-Ohio.

As a junior, she helped lead the Redskins to the state quarterfinals. She was named Second Team All-Shelby County Athletic League and Honorable Mention All-District IX following the season.

Furthermore, she led her team to the state quarterfinals as a sophomore and the Sweet 16 as a freshman.

Pleiman becomes the sixth member of next year's recruiting class - joining Samantha Reer (5'7" OH/DS, Norwalk St. Paul H.S.), Annie Lindeman (6'0" OH, Ottoville H.S.), Christine Tylutki (5'10" S, Monroe H.S.), Brooke Gyori (5'4" DS, Oregon Clay H.S.) and Tyanna Smith (5'10" MB, Bowling Green H.S.).

Those six also join returning sophomores Ally Mikesell (St. Henry/St. Henry, Ohio), Erika Hartings (Coldwater/Coldwater, Ohio), Amara Hemenway(Bellevue/Bellevue, Ohio), Macy Reigelsperger (Coldwater/Coldwater, Ohio), Deanna Smith (Riverview/Riverview, Mich.) and Taylor Purcell (Bedford/Temperance, Mich.).
