Battle Creek, MI---Drew Plummer had three assists to tie the single game assist record, while Sarah Weaver scored two goals as the Express women defeated Kellogg Community College 4-1 today.

With the win, the Express remained in control of their own destiny, with two Region XII games remaining, for the top seed in the Region XII postseason tournament. The only negative in the match for Owens was that their four game shutout streak ended.

Plummer's assist total ties the mark held by five others, including her teammate, Jill Burkholder, who accomplished the feat earlier this year.

Kendra Eitniear and Jessica Grindle each added a goal for the Express. It was Eitniear's team-high 10th goal of the year, and Grindle increased her season total to four.

Weaver's two goals pushed her season total to six - double her total from all of last year.

Despite losing their shutout streak, the Express kept their streak of allowing one goal or less to nine games. They have allowed two or more goals only twice this year and one of those times was to No. 10 Monroe Community College on Sept. 1.

Erika Brinkman started in goal for the Express. Plummer is now second on the team in assists with five.

The Express (10-2-3) will battle Jackson Community College tomorrow at 12 p.m. in Jackson, MI.
