Malaczewski Scores Two As Owens Wins Fifth Straight In 4-1 Win Over Jackson

Toledo, Ohio---Haley Malaczewski (Central Catholic/Toledo, Ohio) scored twice and assisted on another goal as the Owens Community College women's soccer team defeated Jackson College 4-1 at home today.

Malaczewski scored the team's first goal just 2:48 into the game on an assist from Jessica Kreger (Bedford/Temperance, Mich.). Then, just under 14 minutes later, she scored again, this time on an assist from Jordyn Wright (Riverdale/Forest, Ohio).

Kendyl Christian (Clay/Oregon, Ohio) gave Owens a 3-0 lead at halftime with a goal at the 31:29 mark on an assist from Malaczewski.

In the second half, Owens went up four early when Shelby Antonacci (Lake/Perrysburg, Ohio) fired a laser into the left side of the net off a pass from Wright.

Jackon avoided a shutout with a goal by Kloie Kingsley at the 85:21 mark. K'sha Conquest assisted on the goal.

The most telling stat from today's game was the 21-3 shot advantage for Owens, including a 14-3 advantage in shots on goal. Chelsie Randolph (Start/Toledo, Ohio) made two saves in net for Owens, while Kalee Vickers made 10 saves for Jackson.

Owens is now 10-3-1 overall and 8-2 in Region XII play, while Jackson falls to 4-11-2 overall and 3-6-1 in Region XII play. Owens will host No. 17 Schoolcraft at 3 p.m. tomorrow. Schoolcraft is 9-1 and in first place in the Region XII standings, and Owens is 8-2 and in second place.

Notes

With her two goals and one assist today, Malaczewski now has 10 goals and eight assists this year, both of which are team-highs - although her eight assists is tied for the team lead with Wright, who bumped her season total from six to eight today.

Kreger's assist was her first of the season. Christian's goal was her fifth of the year, and Antonacci's goal was her third of the year.
