Toledo, OH---Dakia Sellers, Jazmine Thomas and Alyssa Meis all played huge roles as the No. 15 Express volleyball team came from down two sets to upset No. 6 Iowa Central College 9-25, 23-25, 25-23, 25-22, 15-7 in their opening match of the Owens Invitational.

"It was a great come from behind win," said Express head volleyball coach Sonny Lewis, "with the difference being the kids played really hard in the sets we won."

Following a first set that saw Iowa Central completely dominate, the Express improved a little in the second set, but failed to complete the full comeback.

In the third set, Iowa Central led 21-16, but the Express won nine of the last 11 points to take the set by two points.

Owens was fully back from its sloppy play in the fourth set, and dominated throughout the fifth set to capture their third straight five set match.

Lewis added: "Being a young team, we have to play hard all the time to be good."

Sellers had 16 kills and five blocks, while Meis had 13 kills. Thomas added eight kills and six blocks, and Tiffani Hobbs had seven kills. Molly Hilfinger led the team with two aces.

The Express (6-1) will now take on No. 12 Pasco-Hernando Community College at approximately 7 p.m. tonight. The start time depends on the length of the matches prior.
