Toledo, Ohio---The No. 17 Owens Community College women's volleyball team defeated Lorain County Community College, Jackson College and Lincoln Land Community College on Saturday in the Student Health and Activities Center (SHAC).

Match 1: Owens d. Lorain County 25-13, 25-20, 25-18

Three players led the team in kills as Owens swept Lorain County in straight sets.

Macy Reigelsperger (Coldwater/Coldwater, Ohio), Erika Hartings (Coldwater/Coldwater, Ohio) and Amara Hemenway (Bellevue/Bellevue, Ohio) led the way with 16, 12 and 11 kills, respectively, while Kayla Siefker (Kalida/Ottawa, Ohio) added five. Hemenway hit .556, while Hartings hit .409. Siefker added a .571 hitting percentage as Owens hit .311 as a team.

Jessica Cooper (Brandywine/Niles, Mich.) and Deanna Smith (Riverview/Riverview, Mich.) led the team in assists with 22 and 16, respectively. Smith also led the team with three aces.

Owens, which had 59 digs, were led in that category by Ciarra Wirick (Benjamin Logan/West Liberty, Ohio) with 14 and Cooper with 11. Aricka LaVoy (Eastwood/Pemberville, Ohio) and Ally Mikesell (St. Henry/St. Henry, Ohio) each added nine.

Reigelsperger led the team with five blocks, while Stephanie Kipp (Ida/Monroe, Mich.) added three.

Match 2: Owens d. Jackson 25-19, 25-22, 18-25, 25-23

Once again, three players had double figures in kills for Owens, but it was Hartings (15), Reigelsperger (14) and Mikesell (10) this time. Taylor Purcell (Bedford/Temperance, Mich.) added six.

Cooper (24) and Smith (23) led the team in assists and Mikesell (2) had a team-high in aces. Wirick (20), LaVoy (15) and Smith (10) led the team in digs. Reigelsperger had a team-high four blocks, while Hartings added three.

Match 3: Owens d. Lincoln Land 29-31, 25-15, 25-13, 25-23

After a rough first set, Owens settled down to pick up its third victory of the day.

Hartings (14) and Reigelsperger (12) led the team in kills, while Hemenway (9) and Kipp (7) also chipped in. Hemenway hit .364 and Kipp hit .462.

Cooper (29) and Smith (18) led the team in assists, while LaVoy and Cooper each picked up a team-high two aces. Wirick (20), LaVoy (16) and Cooper (13) led the team in digs, although three others had seven apiece.

Reigelsperger and Mikesell each had a team-high seven blocks. Siefker and Hartings added four apiece.

Notes

Owens is now 22-8 overall this year. They have won four in a row and eight of their past nine. The team will host Lakeland Community College at 5 p.m. on Wednesday in the SHAC.

Reigelsperger is the reigning OCCAC player of the week.

Lorain County is an OCCAC member, but today's match was a non-conference matchup.
