No. 16 Owens Volleyball Hits Season-High .508 In Road Sweep of Sinclair

Dayton, Ohio---The No. 16 Owens Community College women's volleyball team hit .508 as a team en route to a 25-12, 25-8, 25-16 sweep of Sinclair Community College on the road Friday night.

Erika Hartings (Coldwater/Coldwater, Ohio) and Macy Reigelsperger (Coldwater/Coldwater, Ohio) led the way for the Express. Hartings had eight kills and no errors over 10 attempts for an .800 hitting percentage, while Reigelsperger had a team-high 13 kills on only two errors over 16 attempts for a .688 hitting percentage. Reigelsperger added a team-high six blocks and two digs.

In terms of hitting percentage, Stephanie Kipp (Ida/Monroe, Mich.) wasn't far behind Hartings and Reigelsperger. The sophomore had five kills and a .625 hitting percenage. 

As a team, the Express had 38 kills and six errors over 63 attempts for its .508 percentage.

Jessica Cooper (Brandywine/Niles, Mich.) led the team in assists with 18, while Deanna Smith (Riverview/Riverview, Mich.) had 11. Amara Hemenway (Bellevue/Bellevue, Ohio) had a team-high two aces.

Ciarra Wirick (Benjamin Logan/West Liberty, Ohio) had a team-high nine digs. Smith was next closest with five.

Aside from Reigelsperger's team-high six blocks, Kipp added three and three others added two. Owens had 17 blocks as a team.

The .508 hitting percentage was a team-high for the season. The team's previous high was .364 vs Monroe College on Aug. 29.

The Express have now won six in a row and 10 of its past 11 heading into Wednesday's 5 p.m. road tilt against Cuyahoga Community College.

Notes

Wirick's nine digs broke her streak of eight consecutive matches with at least 10 digs.
