Angstmann Signs With Owens Volleyball, Will Join Sister On Next Year's Team

St. Marys, Ohio---Ally Angstmann, a 5-10 outside hitter from St. Marys Memorial High School, has signed a letter of intent to become the fourth signee in next year's Owens Community College women's volleyball recruiting class.

Angstmann, who will join her sister Erika on next year's team, was named First Team All-Western Buckeye League (WBL) and First Team All-District 8 after totaling 338 kills, 355 digs, 37 aces and 35 blocks as a senior. She was also selected as a participant in the District 8 All-Star Game.

During her career, Angstmann was a two-time First Team All-WBL and one-time Second Team All-WBL selection. She was also a one-time Second Team All-District 8 honoree prior to earning First Team recognition as a senior.

Overall, Angstmann totaled over 1,000 kills, 1,245 digs, 147 aces and 82 blocks during her high school career that saw the team produce a 64-34 record, four straight sectional championships and two regional appearances.

Angstmann joins three previous signees - Summer Sweeting, a 5-6 setter from South Central (OH) High School, Brooke Gerdeman, a 6-2 middle blocker from Leipsic (OH) High School, and Jordan Alt, a 5-10 middle blocker from Ottawa-Glandorf (OH) High School.

The No. 2 ranked Owens volleyball team is currently 38-4 overall and recently captured Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) and Region XII District F championships for the second consecutive season. The team has won 14 consecutive matches and earned the No. 2 seed in the 16-team National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II National Tournament in Charleston, W.V. Nov. 17-19. They will open up the tournament this Thursday at 11 a.m. against No. 15 seed Potomac State (WV). For more info on that, visit here.
