Toledo, Ohio---Jared Pingitore, a 6-4 catcher/infielder from Airport High School in Carleton, Mich., has signed a letter of intent to play baseball at Owens Community College next year.

Pingitore has earned All-Huron League, All-District and All-Region honors during his time at Airport.

"Jared is a very athletic student-athlete who can swing the bat with power and is fundamentally sound behind the plate," said Owens Community College head baseball coach John Parisho. "He is a great program guy who is going to push other guys around him to get better. Just like the recent signees, Jared comes from a very good baseball program at Airport. We are excited to get him on campus."

Pingitore becomes the fourth member of the 2016-17 recruiting class. He joins Tanner Glass (IF) from Bedford High School in Temperance, Mich., Adrian Reed (IF) from Livonia Franklin High School in Livonia, Mich. and Josh Green (RHP/IF) from Flat Rock Community in Flat Rock, Mich.

The Owens baseball team finished 23-25 last year, but captured the Sub-Region XII tournament championship and finished third in the Region XII tournament, which marked the best postseason finish for the program since 2007. This year's team will open its regular season March 5-12 in Florida.
