Battle Creek, MI---The Express golf team opened its season with a seventh place finish in the 15-team Olivet College Invitational.

Darren Gessner led the Express with a low score of 152, while Conor Totzke shot a 155, Kyle Simmons shot a 157, Luke Berger shot a 158, and Tyler Crossley shot a 166. Par was 142.

As a team, the Express shot 620 in the two-day invitational held at Bedford Valley Golf Course. Calvin College finished in first place with a team score of 597.

Owens is now 8-6.
