Rich Pivoriunas returns for his fifth season as the head coach at Owens Community College. During the last two years, his squads have captured consecutive OCCAC league championships and have become one of the toughest teams to beat in the conference.  During his tenure as the Owens head baseball coach, his record stands at 143-97.  His overall conference record is 50-35.

Pivoriunas is a veteran of more than 25 years of Northwest Ohio baseball.  During that time, his teams at Delta and Eastwood high schools won more than 300 games.  He is a native of East Cleveland and the first captain of the Cleveland St. Joseph High School baseball team.  He graduated from the University of Toledo (UT), where he was a letterwinner on the football team from 1969 to 1971.  He also played for the Hall of Fame baseball coach Stan Sanders while at UT.  Pivoriunas is a guidance counselor at Eastwood High School.
