Owens Career: In 2006, he collected 33 hits, had 15 RBIs and compiled a .359 batting average.

High School: 2005 Defiance High School graduate, Defiance, Ohio, where he earned First Team and Second Team All-Western Buckeye League and First Team All-District honors.  In addition, Schultz was Honorable Mention All-WBL in basketball and achieved academic honors.
