Breymier Inks With Spring Hill College

Toledo, Ohio---Benjamin Breymier (North Central/Indianapolis, Ind.), a sophomore first baseman/catcher for the Owens Community College baseball team this past season, has signed with Spring Hill College in Mobile, Ala.

Breymier went 30-for-102 (.294) as a sophomore with 17 runs, four doubles, three triples, one home run, 21 RBI, 20 walks and two stolen bases. In 36 games, he also produced a .409 on base percentage.

Breymier, who redshirted the 2013-14 school year due to injury, hit 57-for-210 (.271) with 26 runs, five doubles, one triple, one home run, 39 RBI, 36 walks, three stolen bases and a .381 on base percentage over his two-year career.

The Owens baseball team went 23-25 last year. They played their best baseball in the postseason as they finished third in the Region XII tournament, which was the program's best postseason finish since 2007.

Spring Hill College went 26-14 overall and 16-0 in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC). It was the team's first at the NCAA Division II level.

Breymier is the 29th Owens student-athlete to sign with a four-year school this summer, which ties the college record for most in one year with the 2013-14 group. Furthermore, he is the fifth player from last year's baseball team to sign with a four-year school. He joins Charlie Sipe (Indiana Tech University, NAIA), Zach Coffield (Adrian College, NCAA Division III), Payton Scott (Indiana Wesleyan University, NAIA) and Blake Kuszmaul (Concordia University, NAIA).
