Express split with Clark St - Improve to 3-1 in conference play

The Express move to 3-1 in conference play with split against Clark St.

 

Game 1 - Final - 7-3

It was a dominant pitching performance from Jackson Grine. Grine allowed only 1 hit while striking out 11 in 7 innings of work. With the Express trailing 3-1 heading into the 5th, the bats came alive with 5 runs. Jackson Bauer got the scoring going with a solo shot to left. Then Schuerman, Wilkins and Mayberry all got base hits to make the game 3-2. Then Kirk Gibson doubled to take the lead. With two outs and runners on 2nd and 3rd Isaiah Smith singled to left scoring 2 more runs putting the game out of reach. 

 

 Game 2 – Loss 13-6 

 Very well-played game. 3-2 going into the 6th but the floodgates opened when the Express allowed 8 runs in the top of the inning. Cullen McFarland and Brendon Lawlor both had 1 hit and 2 BBs on the day.
