Season comes to a close

The Express season comes to an end, losing to Oakton CC in game 3 of the District Final. 

 

Game 1 - Loss - The game was a high-scoring affair with Oakton scoring 16 runs and Owens scoring 6. Forcing the Express to an Elimination Game. 

Game 2 - Win - Walk-Off Winner! Never Quit. The Express stormed back and won the 11-inning contest 8-7. The Express trailed 7-2 going into the bottom of the 8th inning. The team scored 1 run in the 8th and 4 runs in the 9th to tie the game up. The Epress scored 4 runs with two outs to force extras. Then, with two outs, in the 11th inning, Landon Amstutz drove in Kale Wilkins for the winning run. This forced a game 3. 

Game 3 - Loss - The Express lost 7-2. Giving up a 6-run inning in the 1st inning allowed the Oakton CC Owls to coast to a District Championship. Dom Carlson and Lucas Gerkin pitched well in relief to keep the game close. The offense couldn't string anything together, scattering 7 hits on the day. 

 

The 24/25 Express team will finish with another 30-win campaign. "What a great group of young men," stated Coach Parisho in the final huddle of the year. We have 10 or more players moving on to continue their academic and baseball careers. We are super proud of this team and what they accomplished this season.
