John Parisho will embark on his seventh season at the helm of the Owens Express baseball program in the 2022-23 season. Parisho returned as the head baseball coach at Owens Community College in 2018-19 following a two-year hiatus. He officially came back on board in August 2017.

Parisho spent five years as a coach with the Owens baseball program from 2011-16, and he was the head coach for the final two of those five seasons when he guided the program to its best postseason finish since 2007 and the first 30 win season since 2010.

Most recently, the Owens baseball program advanced to the NJCAA Division-III District finals after capturing its second straight Regional championship title in 2022. The 2021 season was highlighted with a trip to the Baseball World Series for the first time in program history. Under Parisho's leadership, the Express tallied a 35-15 record which tied for the second-most wins in a single season in program history.

The 2019-20 season saw high hopes for the Express, but was cut short after just four games after a 3-1 start to the season.

The 2018-19 campaign marked the return of Owens baseball with the Express posting a winning record at 27-20 while being 12-11 in confernce play.

In 2016, Parisho led an Owens team that finished 30-15 overall, 11-5 (2nd Place) in OCCAC play and advanced to the Sub-Region XII tournament. In conference play, Owens was the only team to defeat league champion Cuyahoga Community College and took two of four games from eventual NJCAA third place finisher Sinclair Community College. The team batted .316 and featured OCCAC Pitcher of the Year Grant Peters.

Folowing the season, four players earned All-OCCAC recognition, including Peters, Casey Gose, Ty Suntken and Jake Schmeltz.

In his first year as head coach, Parisho led Owens to its best postseason finish since the spring of 2007. The team posted a 23-25 record overall, finished 7-17 in OCCAC play (4th Place), captured the Sub-Region XII tournament championship over Vincennes University and finished third in the Region XII tournament.

Two of his players, Gose and Charlie Sipe, each earned All-OCCAC honors.

Parisho served as the team's hitting coach during the 2013 and 2014 seasons after working with the team's outfield during the 2012 season.

The team saw an improvement in wins over Parisho's final four seasons as an assistant or head coach. The team went from 15 wins in 2013 to 19 in 2014 to 23 in 2015 before winning 30 in his final year.

Parisho, who recently coached the 18-U USSA National Team in Florida, was a student assistant with the Eastern Michigan University baseball program prior to Owens. He worked under the direction of the hitting and pitching coaches. He also helped with the scouting of opponents and made scouting reports for the outfielders.

Parisho has spent time at Dundee High School as a varsity assistant coach where he was able to learn under the experience and knowledge of Dan O’Brien, a former major league baseball pitcher and former Big 10 coach. While at Dundee, Parisho helped the program get back to playing fundamental baseball and respectability after a few years of below average play.

Parisho has also done numerous lessons with players who have gone on to play collegiate level baseball.

Parisho was recruited by numerous college and universities but injuries cut his playing career short. He posted an 8-1 record as a pitcher and hit .389 as a senior at Dundee, while leading the LCAA in home runs. Parisho was named all-league and all-region as a pitcher and outfielder. He was a three sport athlete and earned postseason honors in all three his senior year.

Parisho is originally from Dundee, Mich. and now resides in Perrysburg with his wife.
