Prior to Owens: A graduate of Gulfport High School, Cole was named the 5A Defensive Player of the Year in Mississippi and his Team Defensive Player of the Year.  He also had the ability to score in bunches, evidence by scoring 14 points in 2:30 of a tournament game his junior season.  He also played football at Gulfport.
