Toledo, Ohio---John Murry (North Central/Indianapolis, Ind.) is the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) men's basketball player of the week for the second consecutive week.

Murry had a fantastic offensive effort on Saturday to help the No. 13 Express topple No. 17 Sinclair Community College.  Murry was 13-for-20 from the field and 2-for-5 from beyond the 3-point line to finish with a team-high 28 points in the 116-92 Express win.  The 6'4" freshman also finished the day with 28 points and three assists.

On the defensive side, Murry contributed five defensive rebounds on Saturday as well as two steals.  Murry was second on the team in minutes played with 29, trailing only the 30 minutes from Andy Bachman (North Side/Fort Wayne, Ind.).

This is the fourth week in a row that an Owens player has earned OCCAC men's basketball player of the week honors.  Murry took home the award last week while Bikramjit Gill (Our Ascension of the Lord/Toronto, Ontario, Canada) split with Winston Grays the week of Jan. 29 and also won the award the week of Jan. 21. Gill also won the award on Dec. 8.

Murry is averaging a team-high 16.4 points per game overall this year, as well as 4.6 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.1 steals per contest. In OCCAC play, he has picked up his game to become the conference's second leading scorer at 21.7 points per contest. He also averages five rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.5 steals per game in conference play.

Murry and the Express (19-4, 6-0 OCCAC) will look to remain in sole possession of first place in the conference with a tough 7:30 p.m. home matchup against Lakeland Community College on Wednesday.
