Gill Earns Fourth OCCAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week Award

Toledo, Ohio---Bikramjit Gill (Our Ascension of the Lord/Toronto, Ontario, Canada) has been named the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) men's basketball player of the week.

Gill, who broke the Owens Community College men's basketball single season block record last week, averaged 22.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, four blocks, 2.5 steals and 1.5 assists in wins over Columbus State Community College and Edison Community College.

On Wednesday, Gill only played 17 minutes in a 105-70 win over Edison, but produced 24 points, 11 rebounds, five steals, two blocks and one assist. He finished 10-for-12 from the field, 1-for-1 from 3-point range and 3-for-6 from the foul line.

On Saturday, Gill finished 9-for-13 from the field, 1-for-2 from 3-point range and 2-for-3 from the foul line in the 94-83 win over Columbus State. He finished with 21 points, eight rebounds, six blocks and two assists.

Gill is averaging 17.8 points, 12.8 rebounds, 3.2 blocks and two steals per game in OCCAC play. He is fourth in the conference in scoring, first in rebounding, first in blocks and eighth in steals.

In the win over Columbus State, Gill's six blocks pushed his season total to 59 and propelled him past James Kelly's single season block record of 58, which was set in 2011-12.

The Express are 22-5 overall and 9-1 in OCCAC play. They will travel to Cleveland, Ohio tonight for a 7 p.m. matchup against Cuyahoga Community College. Should they win their final two road, regular season games, the Express will clinch at least a share of their first conference title since the 2001-02 season.
