Toledo, Ohio---Marquevious Wilson (Lima Senior/Lima, Ohio), a freshman guard for the Owens Community College men's basketball team, has been named the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference's (OCCAC) Division II player of the week.

Wilson averaged 21.5 points, nine rebounds, three assists and one steal while leading his team to a pair of close victories last week over Lorain County Community College and Sinclair Community College.

In his team's 92-87 win over Lorain County, Wilson scored a team-high 23 points off the bench on 8-for-12 shooting (4-for-6 from 3-point range) and a 3-for-4 finish from the foul line. He also added 11 rebounds (three offensive), two assists and two steals. Then, in his team's 88-83 win over Sinclair, Wilson had 20 points, seven rebounds and four assists while shooting 5-for-12 from the field (4-for-8 from 3-point range) and 6-for-9 from the foul line.

Wilson is now averaging 10.2 points, 4.2 rebounds, three assists and 1.3 steals per game overall this year. In conference play, however, he is the team's second leading scorer, rebounder and assist producer with averages of 14.4 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.3 steals per game. 

Owens is now 18-7 overall and 8-3 in OCCAC play. They are currently in third place heading into a road matchup at Edison State Community College on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. 

This is the second consecutive week a player from Owens has won the award after Derrik Jamerson Jr. (Cornerstone/Pontiac, Mich.) won last week.
