Toledo, OH---Owens Men's Soccer Head Coach Art Johnson has been named the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference Co-Coach of the Year, while Novak Vuk Janicic (Elektro Technicka Skola/Belgrade, Serbia) was named the OCCAC Co-Offensive Player of the Year and Travis Turner (Springfield/Holland, Ohio) was named the Co-Defensive Player of the Year.
Vuk Janicic was the team's leading scorer and was the region's fifth leading scorer. He amassed 37 points on 14 goals and nine assists.
Johnson notched the 150th win of his career - incidentally against his own alma mater, Monroe Community College (N.Y.), on Oct. 15 at home.
First Team All-OCCAC selections included: Vuk Janicic, Webber and Turner. Second Team All-OCCAC selections included: Juavanie Cole (Coconut Creek/Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) and Olman.
Additionally, Vuk Janicic, Webber and Turner were named to Second Team All-Region XII
Turner, the only sophomore among league and region honors, had seven points on three goals and one assist. He led the team in fouls with 28.
Webber was the team's second leading scorer as he amassed 27 points on 11 goals and five assists. The freshman from Trelawny, Jamaica should form a nice duo with fellow freshman, Vuk Janicic, next year.
Cole finished with 12 points on three goals and six assists, while Olman played the most minutes in one season in program history.
As the starting goalie, he played in 21 games and amassed 1,824 minutes, 140 shots against and 109 saves. He had a 1.53 goals against average and had six shutouts. There were only 47 minutes of action he did not play.
