Owens career: In 2008, Helminiak earned First Team All-OCCAC and OCCAC All-Academic honors, and she was named the recipient of the team's defensive player of the year award. She was the team leader with 10 home runs and 36 RBI. She had 34 hits and 23 runs, as well.

High School: Helminiak was First Team All-Northern Lakes league and Honorable Mention All-District. She was the team's offensive player of the year.
