2009-10: Mowery played in 15 games last year. In 22 at-bats, she had one hit, two RBIs, two runs, and three walks. She finished with a .045 batting average and a .179 on-base percentage. She had one steal in one attempt.
Prior to Owens: Mowery played softball and basketball at Genoa, where she was an Honorable Mention All-Suburban Lakes League selection as a senior in softball for coach Tom Kontak. As a basketball player, Mowery was a two-time SLL champion and set a school record with 78 steals in a season while being an Honorable Mention All-SLL selection. Academically, she earned the Nine-to-Five Individual Award and the Ms. Comet Prestigious Award. She lists her greatest personal sports thrill as when Genoa scored 100 points in a game and she scored the 100th point.
