Myrtle Beach, SC---Mareshah Scott registered two multi-hit games today, while the Express pitching trio of Ashlyn Michalak, Lexi Sheets and Kasey Graham combined to allow only two runs and six hits.

Game 1: Owens 7 Olney Central 2

One day after Michalak struck out 19 Olney Central hitters, she registered four strikeouts in a two-inning save.

Sheets (2-0) went the first five innings and allowed five hits, two runs and zero walks. She only had one strikeout, but it was huge as it came with runners on second and third with only one out in the fourth inning. Sheets would get the following batter out to end the inning.

Michalak faced only one over the minium, and the only runner she allowed came via a passed ball following a strikeout.

Scott and Michelle Hollister each recorded two hits to lead the Express on offense. Scott finished 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI, while Hollister went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBIs and a double. Melanie Iacoangeli also scored two runs and had the lone steal for the Express.

The Express had two three run innings off Olney starter Samantha Tomasino in the fourth and sixth that were key in the win. Hollister had an RBI single in the fourth and an RBI double in the sixth, while Scott registered an RBI single in the fourth inning.

Tomasino went the distance for Olney Central while taking the loss. She allowed nine hits, seven runs (four earned), and one walk while striking out four. Krystal Welch led the Olney offense with a 2-for-3, two RBI performance.

Game 2: Owens 12 Southern Vermont College 0

The Express scored plenty of runs early, while Graham and Michalak combined on a one-hitter.

Graham, who relieved Michalak after one inning, allowed only a double to Alyssa Davis in the fourth. She retired every other batter, while Michalak retired the side 1-2-3 in the first.

Katie Butler led the Express offensive attack with three hits, while Scott, Tabitha Britt, Hannah Morrison and Hallie Thompson each recorded two hits in a 15 hit performance for the Express off Southern Vermont pitcher Hayley McDonald.

Butler finished 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBIs, a double and a walk, while Morrison went 2-for-2 with four RBIs and a stolen base in her collegiate debut. Also, Scott went 2-for-2 with two runs, Britt went 2-for-2 with a double, a triple, two RBIs and two runs and Thompson finished 2-for-3.

Those five accounted for 11 of the team's 15 hits. The others came from Jaylee Glad, Tayler Redinger, Kendra Craig and Katyln Whitmarsh.
