Carly Hewitt is in her second year as an assistant coach in the Owens softball program.

In the spring of 2015, West was an instrumental part of an Owens team that went 32-18 overall and 10-2 in OCCAC play. She helped lead the team to the program's 13th conference championship. In the postseason, Owens captured the Region XII District I championship and finished in the top 12 at the NJCAA Division II National Tournament.

Hewitt resides in Perrysburg Township with her husband, Kenny, who is the head women's soccer coach at Owens.
