Mark Henry completed his second season as head coach of the Owens women's basketball program in 2002-03.

In 2002-03, Henry led the Express back to the NJCAA D-II National Tournament, where the team finished sixth. They began their postseason run with a runner-up finish in the OCCAC tournament before continuing it with a Region XII tournament finals win, 73-70, over Wayne County Community College.

In the summer of 2003, Henry tragically passed away in an automobile accident.

During his first year, he led the Express to a 21-12 overall record.

The previous five seasons, Henry served as an Express assistant coach. In addition to his college coaching experience, Henry also has coached several sports at various levels at Summerfield High School in Petersburg, Michigan, including girls varsity basketball head coach from 1986-1990. A graduate of Summerfield High School, he earned his bachelor's degree in education from Eastern Michigan University in 1981. Henry resides in Petersburg, Michigan.
