2012-13: Carter did not play during the season. She redshirted and will help the Express at the point guard position in 2013-14.

Prior to Owens: Carter, a 5-4 point guard from Pioneer HS in Ann Arbor, MI, is transferring to Owens after one year at NJCAA D-I Midland College in Texas. At Pioneer, she was named AP First Team All-State and AnnArbor.com's Washtenaw County Player of the Year her senior year. Additionally, she was a two-time selection to AnnArbor.com's All-Washtenaw County Dream Team.

AnnArbor.com had this to say about Carter following her senior year: "Carter is a pure scorer who created her own shots off dribble penetration, had a solid mid-range game and could shoot from the outside. She made 31 3-pointers in 19 regular season games, was a 71.9-percent (82 of 114) free throw shooter and averaged 19.1 points. She scored more than 30 points twice and more than 20 points in 11 games. Carter averaged 16.3 points during district play and shot 80.7 percent (21 of 26) from the line, leading Pioneer to its first district championship since 2000. At 5-foot-4, Carter was the shortest Class A all-state first team selection."

During her four-year career as a varsity player, she accumulated 937 points. Other personal accolades include being named team MVP and a three-time First Team All-SEC selection. Carter played for coach Crystal Nestfield at Pioneer.

Personal: Kamilah is the daughter of LeRoy Carter and Mamie Hugan. She has three siblings - Mike, Keyra and C.J.
