Mitchell helped engineer the Express to two wins this week - including an upset of No. 20 Cincinnati State that put her team in a tie for first place in the OCCAC standings with two games remaining.

In a 98-35 win over Lakeland Community College on Wednesday, Mitchell had 18 points, 11 rebounds and five assists in only 19 minutes of action. She shot 6-for-12 from the field and 4-for-6 from 3-point range.

Then, in her team's 82-65 win over Cincinnati State on Saturday, Mitchell added 14 points, nine rebounds, three assists and two steals. She, once again, shot 6-for-12 from the field, while going 2-for-5 from 3-point range in 27 minutes.

In those two games, Mitchell shot 12-for-24 overall from the field and 6-for-11 from 3-point range. She totaled 32 points, 20 rebounds, eight assists, two steals and one block.

It is her first career OCCAC player of the week award. For the Express as a team, it is their second honor OCCAC POW honor this year as freshman guard Eboni Adams won the award on Jan. 13.

The Express women are now 21-7 overall and 8-2 in the OCCAC. They will take on Edison Community College on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. before traveling to take on Columbus State Community College in their regular season finale on Saturday at 1 p.m.
