Toledo, Ohio---Aysah Ingram (Trotwood-Madison/Trotwood, Ohio) produced nine points and eight rebounds in the third quarter alone to spark the No. 9 Owens Community College women's basketball team to an 81-54 win over Sinclair Community College this afternoon in the Student Health and Activities Center (SHAC).

In the first quarter, Owens jumped out to a 28-11 lead behind Lakyn Gulley's (South Side/Fort Wayne Ind.) trio of 3-pointers and Jeryn Reese's (Mansfield/Mansfield, Ohio) eight points and five rebounds.

The second quarter, however, featured three fouls from Reese, which allowed her only three minutes of playing time. Furthermore, starting center Mikayla Ward (Huron/Ypsilanti, Mich.) picked up two fouls in the quarter as Sinclair outscored Owens 28-16 and trailed just 44-39 at halftime.

In the second quarter, Sinclair finished 10-for-12 from the field and 3-for-5 from 3-point range, led by Alona Skipper, who had 13 points on a trio of 3-pointers.

The second half, however, was a different story. Owens opened the third quarter on a 9-0 run to take a 53-39 lead with 6:21 left. The run featured four points from Reese and three points from Ingram, who missed the first half.

Moments later, Gulley pushed the lead to 15 with a 3-pointer. With 30 seconds left in the quarter, Ingram converted a second chance layup for a 21 point lead. After Sara Thornton scored on the other end for Sinclair, Briana Williams (Stebbins/Dayton, Ohio) hit a running jumper from the left side at the buzzer to give Owens a 66-45 lead through three.

Then, in the fourth quarter, the Owens defense smothered Sinclair even further and held them to nine points on 1-for-8 shooting.

Reese led Owens with 16 points, 12 rebounds and three steals. She finished 6-for-12 from the field to pick up her sixth double-double in the past eight games. Gulley added 12 points and five rebounds on 4-for-6 shooting from 3-point range.

Three others tallied 11 points, as well, including Ingram, Ariel Bethea (Huron/Ann Arbor, Mich.) and Williams. Furthermore, Ingram added nine rebounds, and Williams had seven assists.

Sinclair's Skipper led all scorers with 20. She finished 4-for-10 from 3-point range and 6-for-6 from the foul line. Ashtin Brandon added 12 points and nine rebounds.

Owens (18-6, 9-0 OCCAC) has now won eight straight overall this year, and they stretched their regular season conference winning streak to 30. They will be back in action next Wednesday against Edison Community College at 5:30 p.m. in the SHAC.

Sinclair fell to 10-11 overall and 4-7 in OCCAC play.
