Gyori Garners Second OCCAC Player of the Week Award This Season

Toledo, Ohio---Brooke Gyori, a freshman defensive specialist for the No. 9 Owens Community College women's volleyball team, has been named the OCCAC Player of the Week.

In four matches, Gyori totaled 74 digs, including 33 against No. 18 St. Clair County Community College and 23 against Columbus State Community College. She also totaled seven assists and eight service aces.

Gyori has 716 digs, 61 assists, 76 service aces and 14 kills this year for Owens (32-6 overall, 13-0 OCCAC). 

Gyori and her teammates will host Clark State Community College tonight before closing conference and regular season play at Cincinnati State Technical and Community College on Friday. They already clinched the program's 14th OCCAC championship and will have the No. 1 seed in the upcoming Region XII District F tournament.

This is the second OCCAC player of the week award for Gyori this season. She also won on Sept. 20.
