White's double-double helps No. 2 Owens volleyball take down Edison State in four

TOLEDO, Ohio --- Maddie White notched her fourth double-double of the season to lead the No. 2 Owens volleyball team to a 25-16, 25-19, 21-25, 25-11 win over Edison State (4-6, 3-2) inside the Student Health and Activities Center (SHAC) on Friday.

The Express (13-4, 4-1 OCCAC), who moved into sole possession of second place in the conference standings with the win, will host Clark State and Muskegon at 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturday to close out the weekend. 

White (Ottawa, Ohio/Ottawa-Glandorf HS) finished with 15 kills, 13 digs and three blocks. The freshman hit .464 over 28 attempts while chipping in an assist and an ace, as well. It was her ninth double-digit kill performance of the season and her fifth with double-figures in digs. Offensively, McKenna Babcock (Metamora, Ohio/Evergreen HS) added 12 kills, seven digs and one block. It was her seventh match with at least 10+ kills this year. 

Owens had four others total at least four kills, including eight from Alexis Sarvo and six from Adalia Pasch. In fact, Pasch (Fremont, Ohio/St. Joseph CC HS) hit .600 over 10 attempts while Sarvo (Swanton, Ohio/Swanton HS) added a pair of blocks.

Emily Fallis and Jessica Dohm (Swanton, Ohio/Swanton HS) combined for 33 of the team's 48 assists, led by 22 from Fallis (Toledo, Ohio/Southview HS), while Liz Scheckelhoff (Leipsic, Ohio/Leipsic HS) and Carol Lutz (Curtice, Ohio/Genoa HS) added six and five, respectively. Sydney Alford (Toledo, Ohio/Central Catholic HS) finished second on the team with eight digs, while Sydnie Meinke (Curtice, Ohio/Clay HS) contributed six along with a team-best three aces. Taylor Momany (Millbury, Ohio/Lake HS) joined Meinke and Sarvo with two blocks each.

The Red and White have won seven of their past eight matches.
