Toledo, Ohio---Abby Hesselschwardt, a senior at Otsego High School, has signed a letter of intent to join the Owens Community College volleyball team this fall.

As a senior, the 5'10" middle blocker was named First Team All-Northern Buckeye Conference (NBC) and District 7 Division III Player of the Year. She led her team to its second straight league championship, a district championship and a regional semifinal appearance, where she produced 24 kills and 17 digs in a five set loss to No. 5 Coldwater.

"Abby is an excellent student-athlete who will bring athleticism to the court with her quick arm swing and verticality at the net," said Owens assistant volleyball coach Denny Caldwell.

Following the season, the Tontogany, Ohio native also led the girls basketball team at Otsego to its first ever league championship.

As a junior, Hesselschwardt earned First Team All-NBC and First Team All-District honors.
